The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRCWB) Enhances Visitor Communications with Audience™

The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRCWB) has joined a growing number of municipal recreation facilities leveraging Audience™ to manage digital signage communications. MacDonald Island Park—a premier destination in north-east Alberta featuring ice rinks, an aquatic center, fitness facilities, and event venues—now utilizes the full capabilities of the Audience™ platform for communications and engagement throughout the facility.

To enhance the visitor experience, RRCWB required a solution capable of delivering real-time facility schedules, venue details, and corporate messaging seamlessly throughout the park. Following a comprehensive evaluation, Audience™ and the Capital Networks team, were selected to power and lead the digital signage deployment.

Audience’s™ ability to automate data from RRCWB’s Xplor Recreation deployment, along with the browser-based Audience.facilityscheduler for managing arena dressing room assignments, provided the ideal workflow solution for RRCWB.

The initial deployment features eleven high-traffic displays, delivering a mix of facility-wide scheduling updates and location-specific information. Paired with powerful and reliable BrightSign media players, this Audience™ deployment ensures visitors receive timely updates exactly where and when they need them, enhancing both navigation and the overall experience at MacDonald Island Park.

As part of the implementation, the Capital Networks team provided:

• Strategic Consultation
• Initial design and template creation
• Remote technical launch support and player configuration
• Remote training for both technical and operational teams
