When the City of Hamilton sought to streamline, upgrade and expand their previous digital signage installation, they turned to Capital Networks.
The city already had existing outdoor signage displays provided by various suppliers over the years but needed a new partner to assist them in moving forward with their new communications strategy.
By providing a plan that included standardized hardware and a single CMS, Capital Networks was able to assist the city in combining their existing displays with a network of new public and private facing screens that now includes over 50 installations distributed throughout the city.
Having all outdoor signage on the same CMS as the indoor screens allows the City to co-ordinate messaging across the network. Individual locations can publish their own messages and promotions, while the Communications department has the ability to supplement with their own messaging (i.e., health/safety alerts, news updates and promotion of city-wide events).
As part of the initial deployment and continued growth of the network, Capital Networks was able to help the Hamilton I.T. department create a lab environment for ongoing live demonstrations and sandboxing, with a “Technology Showcase” used to present the platform and its available features to other city departments.
